DR-2XE System Fusion II – Installation Support Program

As with the predecessor Yaesu offers an incentive to the amateur radio community to purchase this repeater. With the DR-2XE there will be two levels of financial support:

Purchase of a new DR-2XE: Here Yaesu offers an incentive of von 300 € to the dealer, which we pass directly to the end customer. To use this incentive please order the product 'DR-2XE-PROMO'. At the same time of your order we need the filled out application form. With out this form we cannot offer the promotional price.

Purchase of a new DR-2XE and Return of a used DR-1XE (trade in): Here the end customer can benefit from the above mentioned incentive (300 €) plus he or she will get a 300 € cashback directly from Yaesu, if the returned DR-1XE is accepted. Prerequisite for participation and procedure for this incentive:

Return of a used DR-1XE to WiMo. Please ask for an RMA number before returning an goods!

Fill out and submit the application form together with your order at WiMo

WiMo will check the returned DR-1XE for function, completeness, original packaging (if possible) and signs of wear. If all is ok we will forward the used repeater to Yaesu UK.

Yaesu UK will also check DR-1XE, if all is ok the 300 € cashback will be transferred. For this to succeed the application form must be submitted with the SEPA bank information of teh customer.

Please calculate a duration of 8 to 10 weeks for the entire process until the payout of the cashback amount.

Yaesu DR-1X 1.10j Firmware we have a winner

With the release of DR-1X firmware version 1.10j in conjunction with the current version of the Wires-X software all initial indications are we have a winner!!

I hedge a bit as the upgrade was performed less than 24 hours ago, however with the prior version a couple of hours was the mean time to fail.

So why would you want to interface a digital repeater with lousy audio to Allstar that has in most cases exceptional audio. The answer is you would not or you should not. So then why this article? Well it turns out in the case of the DR1 (and DR1X) you cannot mix analog audio when the repeater is in a digital mode. The DR1 or DR1X must be fixed in FM (analog) mode both in and out. So that's a good thing, no RF digital audio on Allstar! The DR1 makes a rather good (especially for free) analog repeater. It covers either the 2 or 3/4 meter bands with built-in PL or DCS tone signalling. The repeater as you can see in the photo below is made up of two Yaesu FTM400DR transceivers, a switching power supply, and all the glue electronics to make it a repeater.

Purpose
Allows remote control of the Yaesu DR-1X Repeater. PTT and operating mode can be controlled remotely via a USB virtual serial port. The squelch input can be sensed using the same serial line.

The code samples the SQL pin and sends information about state changes to the computer. It also sequences outputs for the EXT I/O, MODE, and PTT pins when commanded to.
